Love on the BART Train (Evan Eleven)
Oh well, I fell in love on the BART train but that goddamn girl, she
got away
Oh well, I fell in love on the BART train- it was late on one dark
December day
Oh well, I fell in love on the BART train and this type of thing don't
happen every day Oh well, I fell in love on the BART train and ya might laugh, ya might call me crazy but as soon as she got on the train with her bike at the Lake Merritt station my heart skipped a beat and she was wearin' black pin-stripe pants and a red hoodie with paint all over it like she must have been an artist and then she took off her hoodie and she looked so good there in her thin, white tank-top all wet from the rain- I wanted to talk to her so bad but she sat down across the aisle from me and this other guy was there and he started talkin' to her So I just stared at her in the reflection in the window, ya know how ya do when ya wanna check somebody out on the train but ya don't want them to know- but then I saw that she was lookin' back at me in the same reflection as she was talkin' to this other guy and I couldn't believe my luck, so we just sat there starin' at each other in the window for what seemed like forever, or maybe five minutes, and then she got off at the Berkeley station and I got off right behind her and followed her up the stairs- she with her bike and me with my bike And I got a real nice view of her when we were goin' up the stairs too- and then we got to the exit and she held the gate open for me to go thru and I looked her right in the eyes and I said, "Thanks"- but just then this lady with a goddamn baby carriage started to go thru the gate and I had to wait for this goddamn lady with her goddamn baby to go thru first and by the time I got thru the exit, my angel was gone- and I'll be goddamned if that ain't what happens to me every fuckin' time!
Oh well, I fell in love on the BART train but that goddamn girl, she
wouldn't stay
