Evan Eleven's Lesson
(Evan Eleven)

Well, my back hurt so bad this mornin' i didn't wanna get out of bed
yeah my back hurt so bad this evenin' that i wished that i was dead
so, God what did i do to deserve such a tragic fate?
i used to work construction jobs to put food on my plate
yeah, diggin' ditches, haulin' rocks, i barely stayed alive
and the greedy bastards only paid me $7.25
and then when i got home at night i'd collapse in a chair
and watch the TV sitcoms with a blank and vacant stare
so i quit that job now years ago but my back hurts me still
and i ain't gettin' younger so i guess it always will
and now i can't jump in the pit and mosh with the young punks
i'm afraid i'll fuck my back again if i get too drunk
but friends, don't lose heart, don't think you'll never win
'cos maybe it's a blessin', i guess i learned my lesson
and i ain't never gonna work for them again!

And then i turn on my TV set and Oh what do i see?
everyone's a critic and they all disagree
democratic asses, white elephant republicans
spit their vitriol just for the sake of seeming partisan
but behind the scenes ya see there's somethin' different goin' on
once they get electcted then they've already won
then they only think of power, they forget their politics
they sit and count their millions with their interns suckin' on their dicks
and just when it's gettin' obvious they're all a bunch of whores
then they distract the populus by startin' a new war
but remember this question when their dogs are on attack
how many politicians' kids are soldiers in Iraq?
they play holier than thou when they're guiltier than sin
but maybe it's a blessin', i guess i learned my lesson
and i ain't never gonna vote for them again!

Well, when ya look at the big picture- look all around the world
when i see the state things are in it makes me wanna hurl
pollution, corruption, death, disease and crime
and in the rich man's pockets goes nine cents of every dime
but there's a way we all could spoil the rich man's master plan
'cos they can't profit off their supply if there ain't no demand
we could quit our jobs tomorrow or we all could go on strike
call it early retirement- call it what ya like
call it all workin' together- it's time friends, let's begin
and yes it's a blessin', i guess i learned my lesson
and i ain't never gonna work for them
i ain't never gonna vote for them
i ain't never gonna work for them again!
